The post of Director of Gibraltar House in London remains unfilled following the retirement of Dominique Searle at the end of August.

Mr Searle, who also served as Gibraltar’s UK Representative, held the position for ten years.

In answer to GBC questions, the Government said the role has traditionally been a direct appointment by the Chief Minister.

However, it says it's still considering the options, which include identifying suitable candidates or advertising the role. Number Six adds there is no deadline for a replacement.

In the meantime, it thanks Dominique Searle for his decade of service to Gibraltar.
