Public Health Gibraltar attended the Annual International Public Health Conference, which brought together colleagues from across the UK Overseas Territories to explore common challenges, share learning and find solutions.

Hosted by the UK Health Security Agency, the conference covered several key areas, including community resilience, emergency planning, port health, antimicrobial stewardship and enhanced surveillance.

This was Gibraltar’s fifth year attending, with the team presenting its work on social asset mapping, its response to the Kent Meningitis B outbreak and efforts to reverse the decline in seasonal flu vaccine uptake.

Director of Public Health Dr Helen Carter said the event helped strengthen international links and share experience, adding: “They help us understand new real-world developments in public health and offer solutions to some of our own complex issues.”
