Public reassurance is main aim of commission on care quality, says Public Health Director

The main goal of a Care Quality Commission in Gibraltar would be, according to the Public Health Director, to reassure the public about the safety and quality of all health and care services. 

Dr Helen Carter told GBC there are gaps in current legislation, particularly when it comes to private healthcare - including beauty treatment providers and counsellors.

She says the proposed Commission would act as the authority regulating all health and care services on the Rock.
