380 runners, adults and children, braved the Saturday afternoon heat to take part in ‘Run the Runway’.
Organised by the RAF, Squadron Leader David Walker told GBC he knew the runway would work well for a charity event.
300 adults tackled a 5km course, with 80 children running 1km.
Over £5000 was raised, to be divided between the charities Children of Cancer UK & the GBC Open Day Trust.
Commander British Forces Gibraltar, Commodore Tom Guy, said it was a great community event that brought together British Forces Gibraltar and the people of Gibraltar more generally.
He said running is great, physically and mentally.
