Spanish Premier to visit La Línea ahead of Andalusian election campaign

The Spanish Premier is expected to visit La Línea on the 9th of May as part of a PSOE campaign event in support of candidate María Jesús Montero, ahead of the Andalusian regional elections on the 17th of May.

The visit by Pedro Sanchez will come weeks before the expected provisional application of the UK–EU treaty arrangements.

It follows a series of recent high-profile visits to La Línea by Spanish political figures. 

The Spanish Foreign Minister, José Manuel Albares visited last week, and Interior Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska visited Algeciras in connection with security issues in the Campo de Gibraltar earlier this year.

Pedro Sánchez has also visited the area recently, including San Roque in February following severe weather.

The venue for the La Línea Socialist Party rally has not yet been confirmed.
