Staggered dates and times for children returning to school

It's time for kids to pack up the beach chairs and open up the textbooks. Today's the first day of school.

There will be staggered entry across year groups.

This morning Years 2, 4, 5, 6 and 13 started.

By this Wednesday and Thursday the majority of students will be back at school, with just Year 12 left to resume next Monday. 

The Education Department says the different days and times are to help pupils settle back into their school routine as smoothly as possible after the summer recess.

It adds that pupils are expected to attend school every day, for the full school day, as per their school’s instructions.

Winter hours will commence on Thursday 11th September
