The trial of an RGP Officer charged with attempted rape and sexual assault is due to begin this morning at the Supreme Court.

Elliot Brooke was arrested in August of last year in relation to an incident which is alleged to have taken place in New Mole House Police Station while he was on duty.

His arrest followed allegations made to the RGP’s Professional Standards Department.

Mr Brooke was suspended from work following his initial arrest and has been on bail since appearing in the Magistrates’ Court in November last year.

The trial is scheduled for ten days.
