The UK Government says it is "committed to supporting Gibraltar, its people and its economy".
Baroness Chapman of the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office answered a written question in the House of Lords from Tory peer and former Armed Forces Minister, Lord Lancaster.
He referred to the £425,000 Gibraltar guarantee contingent liability set out in the FCDO's annual accounts for the past year, asking for what purposes this may be used.
Baroness Chapman cited the up to £500m loan guarantee provided by the UK in 2020 to support the Rock's economic recovery from COVID, adding that the Government of Gibraltar had drawn down £425m of this.
