The vacancy for GBC’s Chief Executive Officer has been opened.
It follows the leaving of James Neish after a three-year contract.
The post will work together and report directly to the GBC Board and is responsible for the management of all services provided by the Corporation as well as all its business interests.
The vacancy states the job is suited to someone with executive experience in the broadcast sector or who has the ambition and passion to want to lead the Corporation and take it forward. It adds the successful candidate will need to be driven by the values of public service media and broadcasting that ensure full editorial independence and impartiality, while also showing business acumen with the goal of increasing commercial revenue.
In answer to GBC questions, the GBC Board says it’s looking forward to the process of recruitment and is hopeful of having a new CEO in post as soon as possible. Someone, it says, who will help ensure the Corporation moves onto its next phase with the same success as it has done in the past.
The closing date for applications is Friday the 27 of September.
