The Spanish environmental group Verdemar has urged Spanish MEPs to seek amendments to the Gibraltar treaty, arguing that environmental safeguards are insufficient.
In a statement, the group raises concerns over waste-water treatment, bunkering and land reclamation.
In several of its claims Verdemar also raise disputes over jurisdiction in British Gibraltar Territorial Waters rather than environmental concerns alone.
In April, the Government rejected a video produced by Verdemar using AI-generated imagery, which it said misrepresented Gibraltar and damaged the image of the Rock.
