The upcoming Calpe Conference will centre on Gibraltar’s strategic importance during the Second World War, with broader context from other global conflicts.

Now in its 29th year, the conference runs from 18th to 20th September at the newly refurbished WWII Tunnels at Hay’s Level, marking the 80th anniversary of the war’s end.

The Museum's Professor Clive Finlayson says international experts will discuss Gibraltar’s military, social, and geopolitical role, from ancient battles to WWII operations, evacuation, and its place in Britain’s imperial network.
