Cemetery Road has undergone a series of changes.

This week the Ministry of Transport introduced new traffic and parking measures.

Cemetery  road has been fully resurfaced, and from Monday two Pay & Display Zones will operate on either side of the North Front Cemetery entrance. Parking will be free for the first hour, then £1 for each additional hour.

In the evenings, the east side of the road will switch to free parking, while the west side will be limited to North District Permit Holders. The area also gains a new accessible bay, daytime loading bays, a Red Zone to keep funeral access clear, and a motorcycle bay.

Other additions include a new speed ramp and cycle racks near the entrance. The changes follow recent works at the Cemetery’s main gate.

The Government says the updates aim to improve safety and manage parking more effectively.
