Dining out in Gibraltar after the treaty could become more expensive, say restaurants

Dining out in Gibraltar could soon become more expensive, as restaurant owners warn that the cost of importing food and alcohol is likely to increase under the Treaty.

Speaking on last night's Viewpoint programme, the President of the Catering Association Ian Ballentine said the sector was still in the dark about how the Treaty will impact businesses.

While the panel was optimistic about the prospect of more visitors coming to Gibraltar with an open border, they urged the Government to invest more in tourism, catering training, and to reduce admin costs to help the industry thrive.
