The McGrail Inquiry has begun the process of drafting letters to parties, meaning the first draft of the Chairman’s report into the early retirement of the former Commissioner has been completed.

The process know as ‘Maxwellisation’ means any parties which are criticised in the report produced by the Chairman, Sir Peter Openshaw, will receive a letter in the coming weeks, inviting them to comment on the criticism.

The letters are currently being drafted.

Meanwhile, in answers to questions from GBC about whether there have been further whistleblower statements, the Chairman has said no more statements have been considered relevant to the Inquiry.

GBC has also submitted questions to the Government about whether there have been any more whistleblowers since the main inquiry last year, and if so whether any of them have been offered jobs in the public sector.

It has not received a reply.
