Anyone wishing to make a complaint about a local business operating in or from Gibraltar can now do so via the Office of Fair Trading's website.

The new online complaints form aims to make the process easier for consumers, while also standardising the way the office receives the information.

Consumers should only raise a complaint using the OFT's digital form as a last resort, after the consumer has already complained in writing to the business, and given it a reasonable opportunity to respond.

Should there be no resolution to the matter, it can then be escalated via the OFT's website.

By steamlining the process in this way, the OFT says it will be in a better position to identify patterns of consumer harm more effectively, allocate resources more efficiently, and also provide timely responses to consumers.

It would also ensure that consents and evidence are obtained in one go from the outset.

The form can be access via oft.gov.gi/complaints.
