Silent protest outside No. 6 ahead of Death at Sea case set for re-hearing

The Death at Sea which featured in the McGrail Inquiry also took centre stage outside Number Six Convent Place on Thursday.

The family of one of the two Spanish men who died in a 2020 collision with a Royal Gibraltar Police launch held a silent protest outside No. 6 , calling for justice and transparency ahead of the inquest scheduled for December.

The hearing was ordered to be re-held after the Court of Appeal quashed the original unlawful killing verdict, ruling the jury had been misdirected. 

When proceedings resume in December, the Coroner’s Court will re-examine the fatal collision, drawing on new evidence which arose during the McGrail Inquiry.
