The Minister for Trade and Industry, Nigel Feetham is in Brussels ahead of the upcoming Commission’s Delegated Act vote in the European Parliament.
This month Gibraltar was removed from the European Commission's list of high risk, third country jurisdictions following investigations by the Financial Action Task Force.
This requires ratification by the European Parliament before coming into effect, with the vote expected to take place over the next few weeks.
Gibraltar has in the past been caught in the political fire with the Parliament going against the Commission's recommendations.
Nigel Feetham is personally lobbying in the Belgian Capital, where he will meet with MEPs. Mr Feetham says he's there to reaffirm Gibraltar’s strong case for delisting and to underline its continued commitment to the highest international standards.
