Victorian Association says no reception warmer than Gibraltar's

The Victorian Association says never - in the UK or internationally - has it felt as warm a welcome as it did this weekend in Gibraltar.

Hayden Reed said it was a privilege to join Gibraltar’s Re-enactment Association, The Sea Scouts Pipe Band and the Bands & Drum Association in bringing history to life for Heritage Weekend.

He said we owe our lives today to the lives of our forebears, but the Victorian Association does not glorify the British Empire. It sets out to recreate the sights and sounds of 140-150 years ago, without making any political statement, while celebrating our shared British history.

Joseph Rodriguez (pictured on the left) of the local re-enactment association said they are always well supported but this weekend was “extraordinary”, made extra special by the collaboration with the visiting history enthusiasts.
