A total of 76 fines were issued last year for dog fouling, the Government has confirmed.

In response to GBC questions, it adds a further 28 individuals were issued fixed penalty notices for failing to have their dogs licensed or registered.

In 2025, 349 DNA samples were collected by the Environmental Agency, with 104 fixed penalty notices for dog-related offences issued as a result.

In response to questions, the Government said that in and around Rosia Road, which some have flagged as a problem area, 19 DNA samples were collected, leading to nine fixed penalty notices and two prosecutions with fines of £250 and £500 due to non-payment.

In addition, they say that street cleaning and enforcement activity, including DNA sampling, remain ongoing as part of their approach to tackle dog fouling.

This month, owners can also renew their dogs licences for 2026, as is a legal requirement at the beginning of each year.
