The public will still have access to the gardens and some facilities at The Mount, should the site become a hotel.
Planning permission is being sought to convert The Mount’s Main Residence into a boutique hotel overlooking the Bay.
Though the permanent management of the site is to be negotiated.
In answer to GBC questions, Number Six confirms the public will maintain access to The Mount’s gardens, as well as tennis courts, and event venue - recently refurbished by the Parasol Foundation and renamed Parasol Hall.
Government told GBC this access was a condition of the expression of interest process and a policy of the Government. However, acess to the actual hotel building is a matter of discussion with the successful applicant - as well as the permanent management of the site.
Meanwhile, a public booking system for the Parasol Event Hall at the site is now available.
A number of event planners have been formally approved to operate the hall and those who want to host an event there will need to engage with approved event planners. Event planners need to email the mount to be considered for the approved list.
