Around 250 people from across Gibraltar gathered on Saturday evening for the annual Public Iftar, which was once organised by the Muslim Youth of Gibraltar.

The event was held at the Catholic Community Centre and marks the holy month of Ramadan, a period of fasting, prayer and reflection for Muslims worldwide. At sunset, those attending, from different faiths and backgrounds, came together to break the fast and share a meal.

Muslim Youth Member Youssef El Hana says the Public Iftar is about promoting understanding and strengthening community ties.

Money raised during the evening will go towards families affected by recent flooding in northern Morocco, supporting the Asilah - Salsa Morocco Appeal with food, blankets and other essential supplies.
