The Gibraltar Socialist Labour Party has marked 50 years since its founding in 1975 as the then Gibraltar Democratic Movement.

The party held its Annual General Meeting on Thursday night, where five members of its ten-strong executive were elected. The other five spots will go up for election in another two years' time.

11 people stood: the five chosen were Charles Benyunes, Maxi Torres, Sumaya Acheddad, Victor Ochello, and Pepe Baldachino - the party Chairman, who was also the only one to be re-elected.

Christina Cortes put it to Mr Baldachino that this is the executive that will be in post when the party holds its next leadership contest within the upcoming two years.
