Former Governor says he's pleased with finding there was no 'improper or corrupt conspiracy' with CM

The then Governor, Nick Pyle, says he's pleased the Inquiry found he had cause to lose confidence in Mr McGrail’s leadership; that he was not manipulated; that there was no improper or corrupt conspiracy between the Chief Minister and him; that there was no conflict or inducement and that he gave entirely independent evidence to the Inquiry.

He's grateful for the report’s statement of “trenchant exoneration” and the assertion that he behaved honourably throughout.  

He acknowledges the processes he followed could have been better.  

Nick Pyle says this was not the end to his time in Gibraltar, or indeed to his career, that he would have expected or wished for.

It thanks his family, without whom, he says, he would not have been able to get through it.
