The Ministry of Equality has announced the launch of a new Age Symposium, aimed at promoting inclusion, well-being and active participation for older people in Gibraltar.
The initiative will bring together stakeholders, service providers, community organisations and older people themselves.
They will discuss the challenges and opportunities associated with ageing, share best practice and help shape future policy.
The Symposium builds on recent work by the Ministry focused on older persons, including events held for the International Day of Older Persons in October and Golden Week in December.
The first part of the event will feature a panel discussion titled “Celebrating Experience, Inspiring Futures”, followed by an interactive session giving attendees the opportunity to raise issues and put forward suggestions.
Minister for Equality, Christian Santos, said the Symposium would create open and positive discussion, adding that older persons must be active partners in decision-making and that a truly inclusive society ensures every generation has a seat at the table.
