The GSD said it will vote against the Amended Motion, and the actual Motion to reject and re-write parts of the Principal Auditor's report.

Speaking in Parliament today, the Opposition Leader accused the Government of using state power to squash criticism and silence individuals, so that it can go unchallenged in how it spends taxpayers’ money.

Keith Azopardi said the former Principal Auditor is fully empowered to question the administration of Government policy.

Keith Azopardi used the final two hours of his response to the Chief Minister's motion on the Principal Auditor's report to highlight his authority and powers under the constitution.

The opposition accused the Chief Minister of trashing the auditor to create confusion about payments, contracts and the waste abuse he said, which is now a burning growing catalogue.

Parliament resumes next Thursday at 11.
