Reacting to Tuesday's Parliament speeches, the lawyer representing Ian McGrail has said no amount of parliamentary hocus pocus will distract the People of this City from the finding that Mr Picardo made grossly improper and sinister interventions in a hugely serious national security criminal investigation and that he deliberately and cynically misled the Gibraltar Police Authority - all of which led to Ian McGrail being unfairly forced out.

Charles Gomez says this is now being covered internationally and every day Gibraltar is looking more like a banana republic.

He says the Chief Minister's increasingly desperate and reckless attempts at self-preservation are only serving to compound the terrible damage he has already done to Gibraltar, and to his client.

Mr Gomez states that, as ever Ian McGrail stands ready assist in trying to safeguard Gibraltar's reputation from reckless actors and to defend his reputation.

He notes what he calls the "shambolic" performance of government ministers in Parliament today, whose malice has overwhelmed their sense of propriety, honour and fairness.
