Nestle has issued a global recall of certain baby formula products over concerns they may contain a toxin linked to food poisoning.

The company said specific batches of its SMA infant and follow-on formula are not safe to be fed to babies, after it identified the possible presence of cereulide, a toxin that can cause nausea and vomiting.

Nestle said the affected batches were sold worldwide, with the products also available locally in supermarkets and pharmacies

The company says no illnesses have been confirmed, but the recall is being carried out as a precaution.

Batch numbers of the affected products in the British line, can be found on Nestle’s UK website
