McGrail Inquiry | 23rd December 2025, 21:15 |

The GSD has called on the Chief Minister to resign and for an early election to be called, following the publication of the Openshaw report.
Opposition Leader Keith Azopardi described the findings as a damning assessment of Fabian Picardo’s conduct, saying his position is now untenable.
He rejected the Chief Minister’s claim of vindication, accusing him of misrepresenting the report’s conclusions.
The GSD says the Inquiry found Mr Picardo acted with gross impropriety, interfered in police matters and mishandled conflicts of interest
It argues the findings would have forced a minister’s resignation in the UK.
Keith Azopardi says the GSD will have more to say on the Openshaw report in the coming days.
