The Convent issues last reminder for Honours nominations

The Convent has issued its last call for nominations for the 2027 New Year Honours List and Gibraltar Award.

It is looking for people from any section of the community, who have made an exceptional contribution or given exceptional service to advancing the well-being, achievement, or reputation of Gibraltar.

Last year, two Gibraltarians were included in the New Year Honours List; Chief Paramedic Sigurd Havelend was granted an MBE, and Gibraltar Defence Police Inspector Xavier Buhagiar received the Overseas Territory Police Medal.

The Honours Board considers nominations for Commander, Officer and Member of the Order of the British Empire - CBE, OBE, and MBE.

They also consider nominations for the British Empire Medal, or BEM, and for the Gibraltar Award.

If you have someone whose name you would like to put forward, nomination forms are available from the Convent Reception on Main Street, or from the Secretary of the Honours Board by emailing enquiry.gibraltar@fcdo.gov.uk.

You need to include two letters of endorsement from people with personal knowledge of the nominee's contribution or service to Gibraltar.

The deadline for submissions is Friday 27th March.
